In a bold move to celebrate their remarkable 2024 performance, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City has awarded $10 million in bonuses to its dedicated staff members. This marks the fourth consecutive year the Boardwalk resort has shared a substantial bonus with its team, recognising their hard work and commitment.
Since its opening in June 2018, the Florida-based gaming giant, owned by the Seminole Tribe, has been rewarding its employees with annual bonuses. For the past three years, this has amounted to $10 million each year. This year’s bonus distribution follows a highly successful 2024, in which Hard Rock reached new heights in several key areas.
Record-Breaking Year
2024 was a banner year for Hard Rock Atlantic City, achieving record-setting results across multiple categories. The property set new records for overall profit, market share, hotel occupancy, and both slot and table game performance. Other areas, including food and beverage sales, conventions, and entertainment, also saw exceptional growth.
“We had a record-breaking year in 2024, and we wanted to make sure our team members felt appreciated for making it all possible,” said Jim Allen, Chair of Hard Rock International.
Hard Rock’s gross gaming revenue (GGR) reached an impressive $544.9 million from its casino floor alone, with an additional $187 million generated through iGaming and sports betting, bringing the property’s total GGR to $731.9 million. While Borgata led the market with $738.1 million in total GGR, Hard Rock placed a strong second.
The casino also reported a 10% increase in gross profit and record operating profits of $107 million through the third quarter of 2024.
Team Appreciation
In a heartfelt town hall celebration, Hard Rock Atlantic City distributed $100,000 in cash and prizes to further recognise their team. George Goldhoff, president of Hard Rock AC, emphasised,
“Our team members are the reason for our success.”
Bonus Breakdown
The $10 million bonus pool is allocated based on various factors such as seniority, position, and work type, ensuring fairness for both full and part-time workers, as well as union and non-union employees. However, upper management does not receive bonuses.
As of February 2025, Hard Rock Atlantic City employed 3,525 people, affectionately referred to as “rock stars.” If the bonus were distributed evenly, each employee would receive approximately $2,836. However, the actual distribution varies based on specific criteria.
Challenges and Changes in Atlantic City’s Casino Workforce
While the total workforce in Atlantic City has shrunk in recent years, with many casinos, including Hard Rock, reducing staff due to rising labor costs, the resort continues to be a significant player in the local economy. The nine casinos in Atlantic City now employ approximately 22,600 workers, down from over 30,000 just a few years ago.
Hard Rock Atlantic City’s success in 2024 exemplifies the power of teamwork, and the company’s commitment to rewarding its employees showcases its ongoing dedication to their growth and success.
